The Family that Laughs Together ....

What's shakin' bacon?  So, I think one of the best things about our family is that we love, love, love to laugh together!  We do crazy things to turn mundane situations into a good time.  For example, we have had some really great Manhunt games while grocery shopping in Wal-Mart.  We've even added to it by calling each other's cell phones with cryptic rhyming clues to where we are hiding - it's great!  (Steve's not a big fan - I think we embarrass him sometimes when we're out in public sometimes, but oh well - he loves us anyway!).  Then there was that time Sebastian and I felt the need to do a random chest bump while in the store check out line - the cashier just about fell over!  I mean, come on...it's not every day that two customers (especially a mother and son) jump up into the air and just about knock each other over with a mega chest bump in line!

We also have a lot of family faves when it comes to funny stuff - here are a few:

Favorite comedians: Jeff Dunham (I keel you!)

and Brian Regan (The big yellow one is the sun!)

Favorite funny movie: hands down, no question at all - The Hangover (What DO tigers dream of??)

Favorite funny tv show: Raising Hope (We are pretty sure we are somehow related to these people!)

Favorite stupid YouTube clips that make no sense but make us laugh so hard we pee our pants: My Spoon is Too Big (I am a banana!)

I guess the moral of the story is to make sure you always take time to laugh together...regardless of how silly it makes you look!  After all, you know what they say - the family that laughs together gets committed together (or someting like that)! Laugh on, peeps!

  1. I have two things to say:
    1) I am glad I am not the only one who embarasses my husband when we are out in public =)
    2) the fact that you do random chest bumps in the checkout line is hysterical and makes me hopeful that Taylor and I have a similiar ritual at some point...=) Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thumbs in Approval of the Checkout line chest bumps.

Not a fan of Jeff Dunham, but the Brian Reagan science project was pretty fun, and I'm guessing you've helped your kids in some science projects over the years. What weas your favorite? Erupting Volcano, Solar System, or Dirt in a Cup? Did your kids at least plant a seed in it? The Hangover is also "pee your pants" funny. I have been watching episodes of the office, which has the singer of your posted clip in it too. I like him better in the hangover. That bearded guy from the movie actor Zach Galifianakis is hilarious no matter what he does, but I can't post a clip related to a class, because his comedy is rather inappropriate.

But when all else fails... there is always the laughing baby

    Enjoy!

  3. Super funny, Elizabeth!

If I can give any piece of advice to any family out there, it has to be find time to laugh together - no matter what is going on. It truly is the best medicine...and, if that doesn't work, a random chest bump is always good!
